Two Year Full Time Evening
and Weekend Course
This course is designed
for those who may: - need to work during the
day to pay for their training
- have family commitments that prevent them from studying in the
day
- be considering changing their career and need to keep ‘the day job’
until the acting bug finally bites for good.

It is
an intensive, two-year vocational training, which covers all aspects of an actor’s work. Subjects covered include: acting
for stage, screen acting, actors’ movement, speech, voice, reading, audition technique, stage combat, dance, singing
and theatre history. During the course students will take part in up to five different productions, normally at the end of
every term.
Though this course is a thorough, practical vocational training, in line with students'
increasing desire for accredited outcomes, study for the LAMDA Certificate in Speech and Drama: Performance Studies has been introduced to the curriculum. This completed in four stages over the course of the first four
terms.
The course culminates in an agents showcase at a major theatre and a season of graduation plays on the London
fringe.
Students on this course must be aged 20 +. There is no upper age limit.
Classes usually run
6.30pm to 10.30pm Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 5.30pm Saturday with occasional Sunday classes and rehearsals.
There are 12 places on this course. Entrance is by audition.

One Year Intensive Course (Day Time)
This course is designed for those who: - studied
drama at university and would like some more ’hands on’ experience
- have had actor training and would like to hone their skills

This is a one year daytime
course, which offers a full actor training. Subjects covered include: acting for stage, screen acting, actors’ movement,
speech, voice, reading, audition technique, stage combat, dance, singing and theatre history. During the course students will
take part in up to five different productions, normally at the end of every term.
The course culminates in an agents’
showcase at a major London theatre and a season of graduation plays on the London fringe.
Students on this course
must be aged 21 +. There is no upper age limit.
Classes usually run 10.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, with occasional
weekend work.
There are 8 places on this course. Entrance is by audition.

One
Year Full Time Foundation Course (Day Time)
This course is designed for younger students who: - need guidance and support through the grueling process of auditioning for three year drama training
- have not yet decided whether acting is the
career choice for them
- want to
do something productive with their gap year

This one year daytime
course is not a full actor training as such, but it prepares students for what they will experience should they choose to
take up acting as a career. Emphasis is placed on preparation, application and discipline. We encourage confidence and a feeling
of self-worth which helps students through the audition process. Subjects covered include: voice, speech, actors’ movement,
audition preparation, stage combat, theatre history and reading. Students can expect to take roles in three different productions
over the year.
Former students of The Actor Works currently train or have trained at the likes of LAMDA, Central
School of Speech and Drama, E15, Rose Bruford, Drama Centre, Bristol Old Vic, Guildhall, Arts Ed, Birmingham School of Acting,
Oxford School of Drama and Italia Conti. These students are invited to come back to The Actor Works to discuss their full
time training experiences with Foundation Course students.
During the course, students will take the LAMDA Examinations Grades 6 - 8. These qualifications are currently NVQ Level 3 equivalent and account for between 20 and 65 points of
UCAS tariffs.Students on this course must be between the ages of 18 and 22 inclusive.
Classes usually run 10.30am
to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, with occasional weekend classes and rehearsals.
There are 8 places on this course.

One
Year Part Time Evening Course
This part time course is designed for those who wish to pursue acting as a leisure interest. - You may wish to ‘test the water’
before considering full time training.
- You may want to improve your self-confidence in group situations.
- Maybe you need to improve your public-speaking skills.
- Or perhaps you’d just like to enjoy a new activity two nights a week.

Classes
will take place from 6.45pm to 10pm on Tuesday evenings and 7pm to 10pm on Thursdays.
Tuesdays involves a warm-up
session with our full time students, followed by three one hour classes: one voice based, one movement based and one acting
based.
On Thursdays, two hours are devoted to rehearsal of scenes for performance and one hour to practice for
LAMDA Examinations held at the end of each term.
Entrance is by audition. There are 12 places on this course.
